Ways to use Cheri’s products

Learn about how you can use Cheri’s Desert Harvest products to make various foods and drinks.

As an elementary teacher in Tucson, Cheri taught children about the flora and fauna of the Sonoran Desert and how Native Americans survived on its bounty. She later utilized this knowledge to preserve many fruits grown on her property to provide her husband and three children with natural, healthy preserves. The excess production was given to neighbors. Soon, the neighbors began sending over unusual fruit grown on their own property for her to preserve for them. Payment for this favor came in the way of special homemade goodies made in their own kitchens. As a result, Cheri learned how to make many different varieties of preserves, some of which she continues to make for her own business today. Since 1985, her homespun hobby blossomed into a national and international business.

Organic Ingredients

Cheri continues to take extra care with each product by processing fresh produce by hand and preparing all of her products in small quantities to ensure product quality and integrity. She still uses no artificial flavoring, coloring, or preservatives, just nature’s finest fruits and vegetables.

Harvesting Prickly Pears

Come by and experience real taste.

As stewards of our environment, Cheri’s Desert Harvest uses every part of the prickly pear cactus fruit it harvests. The juice is used for preserves, beauty oil is extracted from its seeds, and any leftover skin and pulp from the fruit is used for animal feed or is donated to two non-profit organizations for compost. Mother Nature’s rich natural resource benefits many and is ultimately returned to nourish her soil.
